Privacy Policy – Become App

🟢 The short version: Become collects zero personal data. Nothing leaves your device. No analytics, no account required, no third-party SDKs. We make money from subscriptions — not from you.

1. Information We Collect

Become collects no personal information. The app does not require you to create an account, provide an email address, or share any identifying details.

All data you enter — habits, identities, streaks, logs, notes, and preferences — is stored exclusively on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. We have no access to any of it.

✅ No name. No email. No account. No data on our servers.

2. How Your Data Is Stored

Your habit data is stored locally on your iPhone using Apple's SwiftData (Core Data) framework. It is:

Private by default — other apps cannot read it
Backed up automatically if you use iCloud Backup (controlled entirely by your Apple account settings)
Deleted when you delete the app
Never transmitted to any server operated by us or third parties

If you use Home Screen widgets, a small subset of your habit data is shared with the widget extension via a secure App Group container, entirely on-device. This data never leaves your iPhone.

3. Third-Party Services

Become contains zero third-party SDKs for analytics, advertising, crash reporting, or tracking. We do not use Firebase, Mixpanel, Amplitude, Segment, Facebook SDK, Google Analytics, Sentry, or any similar service.

The only external service used is Apple's StoreKit for in-app purchase processing — which is governed entirely by Apple's own privacy policy.

✅ No third-party code that can track, profile, or monetise your behaviour.

4. Push Notifications

Become can send local push notifications (habit reminders, streak celebrations, morning motivation). These notifications are:

Scheduled entirely on-device using Apple's UNUserNotificationCenter
Never sent through external push notification servers
Fully optional — you can toggle each type on or off in Settings within the app
Never used to deliver advertising or third-party content

5. In-App Purchases & Subscriptions

Become offers optional premium subscriptions (monthly, yearly, and lifetime). All purchase transactions are processed exclusively by Apple through StoreKit. We do not collect or store:

Payment information (Apple handles all of this)
Purchase history (managed by your Apple ID)
Billing address or personal details

6. Children's Privacy

Become does not knowingly collect data from children under 13. Because we collect no data from anyone, there is no special risk to younger users. The app is appropriate for all ages. If you are a parent or guardian with concerns, please contact us.

7. Your Rights

Since we hold no personal data about you, there is nothing for us to delete, export, or modify on our end. Your data lives on your device. You control it completely:

Delete your data: Delete the Become app from your iPhone
Export your data: Not currently available in-app; your SwiftData database is accessible via iTunes backup if needed
Opt out of notifications: Settings → Notifications → Become (or within the app's Settings screen)

If you are a resident of the EU/EEA (GDPR) or California (CCPA), the above confirms that we meet these regulations' requirements because we hold no personal data on servers and perform no processing of personal information.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of Become after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.

We will never introduce data collection without explicit notice and your consent.
