🔒 The Short Version
We don't collect any of your personal data. Period. Your habits, reflections, notes, and progress are stored only on your device and never transmitted to us or any third party. We built Become to be a completely private experience.
Our Privacy Philosophy
At Become, we believe your personal habits and self-improvement journey are deeply private. That's why we designed our app from the ground up to require zero data collection. We don't want your data, we don't need your data, and we've built our business model around subscriptions—not selling your information.
Information We Do NOT Collect
To be crystal clear, we do not collect:
- Your name, email address, or any personal identifiers
- Your habits, goals, or identity choices
- Your habit completion data or streaks
- Your notes, reflections, or journal entries
- Your location data
- Your device identifiers or advertising IDs
- Usage analytics or behavioral data
- Any health or fitness information
How Your Data is Stored
All data you create in Become is stored locally on your device using Apple's secure data storage systems (SwiftData/Core Data). This means:
- Your data exists only on your iPhone or iPad
- We have no access to your data
- If you delete the app, your data is deleted
- Your data is protected by your device's security (passcode, Face ID, Touch ID)
iCloud Sync (If Enabled)
If you enable iCloud backup on your device, your Become data may be included in your device backups. This is managed by Apple according to their privacy policy. We do not have access to your iCloud data.
Subscription & Purchase Data
If you purchase a Become subscription or lifetime access:
- All transactions are processed by Apple through the App Store
- We receive only anonymized transaction confirmations to unlock premium features
- We do not receive your payment information, Apple ID, or personal details
- Apple's privacy policy governs how they handle your purchase data
Third-Party Services
Become does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. We use:
- No analytics SDKs (no Google Analytics, no Mixpanel, no Amplitude)
- No advertising networks (no ads in the app)
- No crash reporting services that transmit user data
- No social media trackers
Notifications
If you enable notifications, they are scheduled and delivered entirely on-device using Apple's local notification system. Notification content is generated locally and never sent to external servers.
Children's Privacy
Become does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under 13. Since we collect no data, there is no children's data to protect—but we're committed to making the app safe for users of all ages.
Data Deletion
Since all data is stored on your device, you have complete control:
- Delete individual habits, identities, or logs anytime within the app
- Use "Clear All Data" in Settings to reset everything
- Delete the app to remove all associated data
There is no data on our servers to delete because we don't have any of your data.
Changes to This Policy
If we ever change our privacy practices (though we don't plan to), we will update this policy and the "Last updated" date. Any changes would be communicated through app updates. Our commitment to not collecting your data is fundamental to who we are.

Your Rights
Since we don't collect any personal data, traditional data rights (access, correction, deletion, portability) don't apply in the usual sense. However, you always have complete control over your data because it's stored on your device. You can view, modify, or delete it anytime.
